According to Statistics Canada figures the per capita wastage of edible food at the retail and consumer levels is about 172 kg annually.
More than $31 billion worth of food is wasted every year in Canada.
Over 30 percent of fruits and vegetables in North America don’t even make it onto store shelves because they’re not pretty enough for picky consumers.
HOW IT WORKS
We pick up excess produce from local grocery stores, farms, restaurants.
